Approximately one in four individuals in the United Kingdom will experience a mental health issue at some point in their life. Although these problems are prevalent, most are not severe and are typically short-term. Additionally, many of these issues can be successfully treated with medication by a general practitioner. Mental health refers to our thoughts, emotions, and actions. Anxiety and depression are the most common mental health problems. Furthermore, difficult life events, such as the loss of a loved one or work-related stress, may trigger depression.

Mental Health First Aid in the Workplace Training

In response to the needs of organisations now implementing Mental Health First Aiders in the workplace, Training Solutions North West will be offering a selection of Mental Health First Aid courses at different levels including the accredited Level 3 Award in Supervising First Aid for Mental Health.

They will also develop the necessary skills to initiate conversations and guide individuals towards professional support. In addition, learners will be equipped to identify and manage stress effectively.

Mental Health First Aid in the Workplace – Level 2
This 1 Day Mental Health First Aid in the Workplace – Level 2 course covers the content of the Level 1 course but also expands on the effects of drugs and alcohol, incorporates the First Aid for Mental Health Action Plan and covers ways in which a positive mental health culture can be supported within a workplace.

Supervising Mental Health First Aid in the Workplace – Level 3
This Supervising Mental Health First Aid in the Workplace 2 Day course goes into detail on a wide range of mental health conditions and the support and help provided by healthcare professionals. It covers the content of both the Level 1 and Level 2 qualifications but is aimed at Trainer/Assessors and/or supervisor level within the workplace.
